update

Sorry Its been so long but I have been sooooo sick!! Not a day I take it back hour since I had started chemo have I not been throwing up.... Nothing helped.. We thought after the chemo left my system it would pass.... wrong.. they figurged out it was a reaction from the cyclosporon an ani reg drug ?? They were running it for 2 hours and I was just so sick I had not eaten in 8 days loosing weight and all the good stuff you don't want to happen!! Yesterday we finally got it under control and I'm feeling a little bit better!! Were running it over 10 hours with a 2 hour break and then 10 hours again and it seems to be helping! Transplant went as boring as it should lol I think my donor was a body builder they said it was the biggest bag of marrow they had seen in a long time!! So I had my first meal last night some soup and held it down thank goodness!!! Dr says all my labs are looking good!! Just waiting for the grafting to begin!! xo melissa

chemo

Well things got going a little quicker than expected they started the buslufin (sp) at 4 am pre meds at 3:30 so you can imagine not much sleep but its a hospital what more should I expect! I must say I was very very spoiled by My nurses and Dr at St Joes so this is tough trying to get to know people and them not really knowing much about my I think they think this is my first go around in the chemo dept..... & rounds later I know what works and doesn't for me and they have their ideas so its going take some time! I think they decided on a Picc line and when it clots in a week they will so another one and so on and so on so we will see how that goes! Other than that handling the chemo with no problems! Transplant Date!

It has finally been set!! I check in the 24th or 25th of March... Depends on what we deicde to do with a central line. More than likely the 24th because it involves surgery and they want to start chemo on the 25th and then I will recive the transplant on April fools! Its going to come just about full circle if everything goes as planned I will be all finished with this mess just as I hit my 2 years of being Dx. I had quite a few perfect matches, which is great. I will try and blog as much as I can during the process. Im not posting anything on facebook and I ask that if anyone wants to leave a comment of any kind they can do so on this. I some how in this whole process got a little more private about things as I'm sure you might be able to tell from the lack of blog posts this time around. And while I have no problem talking about things if asked there are just some that I want to keep between my family and I. So any news or updates will be on here I just dont want the added pressure of my parents having to answer everyone via facebook or however else!! This round of chemo (no radiation needed) will be tougher than I have had to date so texting an emailing back.. not that I'm good at it anyways probably wont be happening! The Dr. expects the tpransplant process to be about 28 days ( Im expecting a couple weeks longer.. I know how my body works). So until then..... Thanks for everyones postive thoughts and prayers!

Back in Jail is what I call it!

So I last left off on I was going to Cedars and was hoping to hear about the donors and we did!! I had 9 potential matches and 4 of them had sent the blood work right and the other 5 have appts to get their blood work done! This is good because most people back out here more than anywhere else thru the process. Then once Cedars gets the blood it takes about 10 days to get the results so while I was there I was told my first match came in and it was a 9/10 match and if that was the worst were were gonna get the is still great... we would all love a 10/10 tho! That is as close to a perfect match unless it came from my brother... the only difference is in the DNA... Then Monday my awesome nurse emailed and I had a 10/10 match come in YAY YAY YAY!!! She said she are still going to accept the rest of the matches coming in and see if maybe we can get someone closer to your age or same blood type... So now we need prayers that this 10 match will go thru with it and the transplant starts mid March.

I had My Biopsy a week ago today went good I think hes getting a little stingy on the drugs cause I'm starting to feel it again.... not nearly as bad as with no drugs but I would rather feel nothing so were gonna chat about the dose before my next round :-)

I checked back into St. Joe's early yesterday morning to start chemo only to find out there is a shortage.... really a shortage???? We had actually heard on the news about it but never thought it would effect me.... until my morning nurse came in and said they had enough for 1 person to have one day!! I needed 3 days!!! So she called my Dr who can get what he wants and fast... they called all the other local hospitals to borrow and they all said they could not spare any either. ugh the next shipment comes in mid Feb. that doesn't work for me cause I could risk falling out of remission! So the hospital pharmacy buyer got a hold of one of the manufactures and got me just enough for the 3 day!!! YAY so I started this morning! We decided to go no picc line I think 7 of them was much more than a try and we are going to do a central line for the transplant and those still clot so my Dr wants me to wait and get it there so it will last longer.. so were trying good ole IVs hahaha we got lucky on the first one but anyone who knows me or has tried to give me and iv knows its not an easy task so with chemo shrinking up my veins a picc line just might get thrown into the mix here in a couple days lol!!!

Its been awhile

Sorry Its been awhile.. I came home just after New Years and headed to Seattle. We got lots of info and its safe to say I know why they are the #1 place.. They really know what they are doing... Lots to think about lots to figure out.... I head back to Cedars this week and we will see where we are with the matches and decode if I will go back into St. Joes for another consolidatin round to make sure I stay in remission... I have 9 potential matches so fingers crossed I learn more about how close to perfect if not perfect the are. This last round was very fast I ended up coming home just a little over 2 weeks which was so nice!!! Although is was a very eventful and not in a good way round.. I ended up getting a staph infection from we are thinking my picc line... it clotted just as chemo ended and they puled it out and with in 24 hours I had a 103.1 fever for about 4 days.. I swear fevers are the worst part of this whole thing they make you feel terrible.. Then the day I was going home they found that my left lung which is where I had part of it removed before grew a fungus again :-/ not the best thing to happen before the transplant so I came home with an iv and Nurse mom hooked me up for about an hour and half a day!! She is pretty amazing! So hope that brings everyone up to speed!
